Festival of Unleavened Bread Report – Vizakhapatnam
The
Feast of ULB was joyfully observed at the Zion School in Vizakhapatnam
with approximately 35-40 in attendance each day.
Throughout the Festival time seven people decided to serve Yahweh
fully and were immersed in water in the Name of Yahshua Messiah, thus
sealing their covenant with YHWH. Several
had jobs that require attendance on the Sabbath day, and a few are in
college. But they decided
that, come what may, they will honor Yahweh's law and keep Sabbath day.
We invite the prayers of all for these believers that they may be
true to their baptismal covenant with YHWH.
Zion

Pentecost
– Hyderabad, June 8, 2003
All
of good will are invited to the festival of Pentecost that will celebrated
at the Medipally prayer hall in Hyderabad.
Meetings will start on Friday evening and continue through till
Sunday afternoon. Pentecost or
the Feast of Weeks, as it is called in the Torah, is celebrated by the
Jews as the day the law was given by Yahweh from Mt. Sinai.
In the NT this was the day that YHWH gave His Holy Spirit power in
fullness to the first believers in Yahoshua Messiah.
Whenever the believers of Messiah today come into harmony with the
Law of Yahweh He will give His Holy Spirit power again.
We pray that all will be weighing their life against the Law of
YHWH and coming into harmony with the perfect life of Yahshua Messiah,
that we too may receive the fullness of His Power in our lives.
The
Name of the Messiah – Fundamental Belief #5
Time
does not make error, truth; nor
truth, error. Error is still
error, no matter how long it has been practiced.
Truth is still truth, no matter how long it has be covered up or
ignored. What is the truth in
regard to the Name of the Savior of all mankind, what is the error.
There
is not a single authoritative Biblical reference source that will give
Jesus or Iesous(Greek) as the original Name of the Messiah of Ysrael.
In Matthew 1:21 and Luke 1:3 Yahweh sent the angel Gabriel to the
parents of the Messiah and told them the Name of their soon to be born
Son. Thus showing the concern
that the Heavenly Father had in making sure His Son had the right Name.
In Acts 26:14,15 the Savior Himself told the Apostle Paul
what His Name was, and Paul said that he heard a voice speaking to him in
the Hebrew language. So the
Name that the Apostle Paul proclaimed that there was salvation in, is the
Hebrew Name of the Messiah. What
was this Hebrew Name? The well
respected Anchor Bible says, in Vol. 26 p.2, "Jesus.
The word is the Greek rendering of a well-known Hebrew name.
It was Yahoshu(a) first, then by inner Hebrew phonetic change it
became Yoshua, and by a still later northern dialectal shift, Yeshua."
(parenthesis added) Names in
Hebrew have symbolic meanings and the choosing of the right Name for a
person was an important matter. The
Name Yahshua means, "Yahweh's salvation", and the Name Yahweh
means, "eternal, or self-existent", so the Name Yahshua means,
"the Eternal One's Salvation".
The Father's Name, "Yahweh", is in His Son's Name, so if
one knowingly corrupts the Name of the Son, they have also corrupted the
Fathers Name, and thus transgressed the third commandment.
The Hebrew Name Yahshua can be directly transliterated
into Greek as, "Iasoua", as several Greek scholars have shown,
so there is no good reason for the Saviors Name to be spelled as
Iesous(Jesus), or Yeshua.
The substitution of the "e" syllable rather
than an "a" in the Father's Name came about as the result of a
Jewish taboo against saying the Name of Yahweh.
In Biblical Archeology Review mag. 1985 July/Aug p.78, a professor
Anson Rainey, who is a professor of Semitic linguistics at the Tel Aviv
University in Tel Aviv, Israel, says, "It should be noted that there
are many strong linguistic and epigraphic arguments in favor of Yahweh as
the correct form. ... The Anglicized form, Jehovah is a 'ghost word' based
on the four consonants, YHWH, with the vowels of another word, adonai,
meaning, 'my Lord.' The Hebrew scribes of the Middle ages put those vowels
in to remind the reader to say adonai
rather than pronounce the sacred Name.
But in the first syllable, they nevertheless put in an e rather
than an a so as not to cause anyone to see the syllable ya- and
inadvertently blurt out the sacred Name!
This is just further proof of the correct first syllable, which in
any case is confirmed by Greek spellings and the evidence of Hebrew
linguistics. So Yahweh
is not just some sort of 'scholarly convention.".
The Introduction to Hebrew Grammar, by A.B. Davidson, p.25 26th ed.
says, "YHWH was so venerated that it was called the separated name,
too holy to be uttered by the lips of men.
Therefore, whenever it occurred in the reading of the Sacred text.,
Adonai(Lord) was read in its place; the
vowels of Adonai were attached to YHWH thus YHWH (with an "e"
written after the "Y" instead of the "a" which follows
in Adonai." (The English
letters were substituted for the Hebrew letters in this quote)
The Theological Dict. of the O.T. vol.V p.501 says,
"The Massorites did not however, supply the precise vowel points
required for their pronunciation, which would have yielded the form
yahowah, this form would have violated the very taboo they sought to
observe if the first syllable had contained an a
vowel. They therefore wrote
yehowah with the most colorless vowel in their system."
The above evidence explains why many call the Father
Jehovah rather than Yahweh, and the Son Jesus or Yeshua rather than
Yahshua. Only the Name Yahshua
can bring salvation, because this is the only Name that means,
"Yahweh's salvation". It
is true that many people have only known the Savior by the name of Jesus,
so Yahweh has over looked their ignorance, but once one knows the truth,
obedience is required.
In Acts 4:10,12 Peter said, "Be
it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the Name
of Yahshua Messiah of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom Eloah raised from
the dead, even by Him doth this man stand here before you whole.
... Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other Name
under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved."
"The
word is nigh thee, even in thy
mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Yahshua, and
shalt believe in thine heart that Eloah hath raised him from the dead,
thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness;
and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
Rom. 10:8-10
Wherefore
Eloah also hath highly exalted him, and given Him a Name which is above
every name: That at the Name of Yahshua every knee should bow, of things
in heaven, and things in earth,
and things under the earth; And that
every tongue should confess that Yahshua Messiah is
Lord, to the glory of Eloah the Father.
Phil.2:9-11

Hebrew or Greek N.T.?
Many people today will agree that Yahweh and Yahshua are
the correct Hebrew Names, but they will say that these Names are not used
in our present day Greek N.T., so hence these Hebrew Names must not be
that important. Many early
church fathers testify that the N.T. was originally written in Hebrew and
later translated into Greek. Consider
the following:
Clement of Alexandria
(150 - 212 A.D.)
In the work called
Hypotyposes, to sum up the matter briefly he [Clement of Alexandria] has
given us abridged accounts of all the canonical Scriptures,... the Epistle
to the Hebrews he asserts was written by Paul, to the Hebrews, in the
Hebrew tongue; but that it was carefully translated by Luke, and published
among the Greeks.
(Clement
of Alexandria; Hypotyposes; referred to by Eusebius in Eccl. Hist.
6:14:2)
Jerome (382 A.D.)
"Matthew, who
is also Levi, and from a tax collector came to be an emissary, first of
all evangelists composed a Gospel of Messiah in Judea in the Hebrew
language and letters, for the benefit of those of the circumcision who had
believed, who translated it into Greek is not sufficiently ascertained.
Furthermore, the Hebrew itself is preserved to this day in the
library at Caesarea, which the martyr Pamphilus so diligently collected. I
also was allowed by the Nazarenes who use this volume in the Syrian city
of Borea to copy it. In which is to be remarked that, wherever the
evangelist... makes use of the testimonies of the Old Scripture, he does
not follow the authority of the seventy translators [the Greek
Septuagint], but that of the Hebrew." (Lives of Illustrious Men
Book 3 )
"Pantaenus
found that Bartholomew, one of the twelve emissaries, had there [India]
preached the advent of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah according to the Gospel
of Matthew, which was written in Hebrew letters, and which, on returning
to Alexandria, he brought with him." (De Vir. 3:36)
Isho'dad (850 A.D.)
His [Matthew's]
book was in existence in Caesarea of Palestine,
and everyone acknowledges that he wrote it with his hands in Hebrew...
(Isho'dad Commentary on the Gospels)
Jerome (382)
He
(Paul) being a Hebrew wrote in Hebrew, that is, his own tongue and most
fluently while things which were eloquently written in Hebrew were more
eloquently turned into Greek. (Lives
of Illustrious Men, Book 5)
If
any would be interested in obtaining the book of Matthew or Hebrews in
Hebrew with their English translations, it can be ordered online at:
www.nazarene.net In
these Hebrew manuscripts of the NT the original Names of the Father and
Son are used, so the true Names are in the New Testament, just one would
need to go by the Hebrew rather than Greek.
The Greek manuscripts generally do not use the Name of Yahweh at
all, rather they cover it with the Greek title, Kurios(Lord), and the
Greek manuscripts generally misspell the Sons Name as, Iesous(Jesus),
rather than the true Name as Iasoua(Yahshua).
