Around Andhra

Tsunami Disaster

In the recent disaster to strike Asia many thousands were killed and injured.  In the state of Andhra Pradesh about 130 people were killed and many fishermen lost their expensive nets and boats.  Bro. Rodney Giles worked in cooperation with several others here in Andhra to help buy rice and clothes to help those in distress.  Yahweh will allow natural disasters sometimes to get the attention of mankind and call them back to Him and His Torah.

Children's Ministry

In John 21:15,16 Yahshua asked Peter, "Do you love Me?"  Peter replied, "Yes, Mari, You know that I love You." Yahshua then said "feed My lambs".  Again Yahshua said to Peter, "feed My sheep".  Lambs and sheep eat different things and must be fed differently.  Many times people try to feed lambs the same as sheep or vice versa.

Recently, in the W.G. Dt. bro. D. Joel and A.D. Raj held special children’s meetings with puppets, pictures, and games designed to reach young minds with the Word of Yahweh.  Bro. Raj has fifteen years experience in children’s ministry.  Bro. Raj is working in conjunction with the Child Evangelism Fellowship of India;  he is available for special children’s meetings in Schools, Assemblies, and home clubs.  Training classes to help teach adults how to reach children with the truth of Yahweh's Word are also given.  Prov. 22:6 says, "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it."  Both of these men are available for children's meetings and can be contacted at: D. Joel – 09866272600;  A.D. Raj – 09848562913.

Ministry Training

Bro. Issac Kusuma in Malikipuram, E.G. Dt. is holding one week meetings the first week of each month in which he will be teaching Biblical doctrines to help solidify Pastors and Evangelistic workers in the truth of Yahweh’s Word.  The meeting are free of charge and are held in the A.O.T.L.E. prayer hall.  Meetings for the month of January were successfully completed with 26 in attendance.  For more information contact Bro. Issac at:  08862-227613

Aids Awareness

Aids is spreading in India through blood transfusions and immoral sexual behavior.  In order to combat this disease bro. K John Babu from Visakhapatnam has produced a Telugu song CD to inform the general public of the dangers and results of immorality.  He hopes to have the CD put to video and shown on T.V.  Bro John Babu is involved in various other social outreach programs and can be reached at:  09885055981

Co-laborers with Yahweh

The Apostle Paul said, “For we are laborers together with Alaha”1Cor. 3:9.  To be a laborer with Alaha does not mean that we are necessarily a pastor or evangelist, but that we are helping to build the kingdom of Yahweh in this world in whatever way that we can.  For some people this will be teaching our children diligently and training their young feet;  for some it will mean writing upon points of faith to encourage and strengthen others;  others will be preachers of truth and doctrine.  But everyone should be laboring together with Yahweh in some way.

Yahweh has promised to send His Spirit upon His disciples to give their witness power in this world and bring in the final harvest of earth’s inhabitants to His kingdom.  Hosea 6:3 says, “Then shall we know, if we follow on to know Yahweh: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.”  Rain gives moisture to the seed that eventually produces the harvest, without this needed moisture the harvest could not be produced.  So it is with those that follow Yahweh wherever He leads.  Yahweh promises to give us the needed power to bring in a harvest of souls from the earth.  In order for the rain to be beneficial to the farmer he has to first do his part of plowing the soil, planting the seeds, keeping the pests and weeds out, but after he has done all that he can do, the farmer can only trust the providence of Elohim to make his labors fruitful.  So it is with our work in Yahweh’s vineyard.  We must do our part to prepare for the spiritual rain of Yahweh to come upon us as it came on the early disciples on the day of Pentecost in Acts 2.  Yahweh will not send His power on unprepared servants or it would be wasted, we must be doing our part to develop a righteous character and helping our brothers and sisters in the best way that we can.

Many times the labor in Yahweh’s vineyard will require a sacrifice.  A sacrifice of time, money, worldly ambitions, etc… but man will find true joy and happiness in seeking to serve his fellowman and doing his part to make this world a better place for all.  Yahshua said, He came to this world to serve us, and so should we seek to serve one another, and in doing so we will find happiness, John 13:13-17.   The animals used as offerings by their owners were ready for service or for sacrifice, and so should the servants of Yahweh be.  The Apostle Paul encouraged us to, “… present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto Alaha, which is your reasonable service.” Rom.12:1  Why is it reasonable to be a sacrifice for Elohim?  Because He as our Creator has sacrificed His Son for us and thus has set an example for us to follow.

And walk in love, as Meshiha also hath loved us, and hath given Himself for us an Offering and a Sacrifice to Alaha for a sweet-smelling savour.”Eph. 5:2

Prayers for the sick

In most Assemblies today the number one prayer request is for healing of sickness or disease.  So many prayers are offered for those who are suffering from cancers, heart disease, stroke, diabetes, etc…  Now Yahweh does heal people sometimes of their diseases so we should keep praying but someone must be willing to stop the things that might have caused their disease.  For example, if someone has lung cancer, and they pray to Yahweh for healing, will Yahweh heal them while they are still smoking?  Will Yahweh forgive our sins that we are knowingly practicing?  Yahweh told the Ysraelites “If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of Yahweh thy Elohim, and wilt do that which is right in His sight, and wilt give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee,  which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am Yahweh that healeth thee.” Ex. 15:26

If the Ysraelites wanted to avoid diseases they had to obey Yahweh’s commandments.  Yahweh gave several commands in regard to the health of man.  In today’s world we have different social situations in some respects than what the Ysraelites had.  For instance, we have many more processed and refined foods and many of these modern day articles are just as destructive to man’s health as the unclean meats of Lev. 11.  If someone hopes to maintain good health and blessings from Yahweh they cannot partake of foods that Yahweh has pronounced as unclean.  But the same can be said of smoking, soda pops, refined grains, oily sugary sweets, and an overabundance of fat and meat in the diet.  These items have been shown to be causative factors in many “lifestyle” diseases.

King Solomon said, “the curse causeless does not come” Prov. 26:2.  Whenever someone gets sick they should seek to know the cause of his sickness and see if maybe they did something that brought the disease upon their self.  If so, first make a decision to put away what caused the problem and then offer thy prayer for healing.

Calendar Committee

At the last Executive Committee meeting of the AOYM in 2004 it was voted to have a select seven member committee set aside time to meet and research the Scriptural and historical way to start the sacred year.  This meeting is set for Jan. 23, 2005 to be held in Visakhapatnam at the Zion School building in Pithapuram Colony.  The results of this meeting will be published in the next AOYM newsletter.  The seven member committee consists of Y. Sunith Premanand, Tony B. Suckla, P. Solomon Raju, G.B. Benoni, P. Premanandam, M. Hariem and G. Sarojini.

He that endureth

Yahshua Messiah said, “And  because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. 13But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.” Matt. 24:12,13  In this world we are in a long-distance spiritual race, not a short sprint.  Many will joyfully run with the truth for a short time but when persecution or hardship comes they will leave the straight and narrow way to walk the broad path to destruction.  Too late will many wake up, to find that the way to eternal life is truly ‘straight and narrow’, Matt. 7:13,14

Yahshua said, “he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and immediately with joy receiveth it; 21Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended”.  Mt. 13:20,21  In order to endure persecution over the truth we must sink our mind deep into the Word of Yahweh and know why we believe what we believe, and further we must be willing to courageously stand by what we know is truth, Ps. 119:11.  Courage is something that we all must obtain if we hope to inherit eternal life, a fearful man that is afraid to trust Yahweh will eventually be in the same position as whoremongers and idolaters.  Yahweh stated that, “the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” Rev. 21:8

We must build our trust in Yahweh by being faithful in the little matters of life, and thus we will be strengthened to stand in the greater matters.  Yahshua said, “He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much”, Lk.16:10.  As the children of Ysrael were standing on the borders of the land of Kenaan, Yahweh gave them some timely instruction that we also would be wise to heed, “be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moshe My servant commanded thee:  turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.  8This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.  9Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed:  for Yahweh thy Elohim is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” Yahoshua 1:7-9

Once in Persia, reigned a king,

Who upon his signet ring,

graved a maxim, true and wise

which if held before his eyes,

gave him counsel at a glace,

fit for every change and chance,

solemn words and these are they,

"even this shall pass away".

Trains or camels through the sands,

brought him gems from Samarkand,

fleets of galleys through the seas,

brought him pearls to match with these

but the king counted not his gain,

treasures from the mine or main,

"what is wealth" the king would say,

"even this shall pass away".

In the splendor of his court,

in the revels of the sport,

while the palms of all his guests,

burned with clapping at his jests,

he amid his figs and wine,

cried "O loving friends of mine",

"pleasure comes but not to stay,

even this shall pass away".

Fighting on a furious field,

once a javelin pierced his shield,

soldiers with a loud lament,

bore him bleeding to his tent,

groaning from his tortured side,

"pain is hard to bear" he cried,

"but with patience day by day,

even this shall pass away".

Towering in the public square,

twenty cubits in the air,

rose his statue carved in stone,

then the king, disguised unknown,

stood before his sculptured name,

musing meekly, "what is fame",

"fame is but a slow decay,

even this shall pass away".

Struck with palsy, sear and old,

waiting at the gates of gold,

said he with his dieing breath,

"life is done, but what is death?"

then in answer to the king,

fell a sunbeam on his ring,

showing by a heavenly ray,

even this shall pass away.

"And Alaha shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away."  Revelation 21:4

"So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?  The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.  But thanks be to Alaha, which giveth us the victory through Maran Yahshua Meshiha."  1Corinthians 15:54-57

"I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amayn; and I have the keys of the grave and of death."  Revelation 1:18
