Yahweh commanded these festivals to be kept as holy set apart days, all the males of Ysrael were commanded to attend the annual festivals.  Three times in the year all thy males shall appear before Adonai Yahweh.” Ex. 23:17

The people were commanded to give monetary offerings in order to keep the festivals.  Three times in a year shall all thy males appear before Yahweh thy Elohim  in the place which He shall choose; in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles: and they shall not appear before Yahweh empty: 17Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of Yahweh thy Elohim which He hath given thee.” Dt. 16:16,17

Yahweh promised to bless the children of Ysrael and thus they were to rejoice during the festival of Sukkot.  Seven days shalt thou keep a solemn feast unto Yahweh thy Elohim in the place which Yahweh shall choose: because Yahweh thy Elohim shall bless thee in all thine increase, and in all the works of thine hands, therefore thou shalt surely rejoice.  Dt. 16:15

Awake, Awake put on thy strength…

In Isa. 52:1,2 we read, “Awake, awake; put on thy strength, O Zion ; put on thy beautiful garments, O Yarushalem, the holy city:…2Shake thyself from the dust;  arise, and sit down, O Yarushalem: loose thyself from the bands of thy neck, O captive daughter of Zion .  Zion is a symbolic term that refers to hwhy’s people,(Isa. 51:16).  So is telling His people that they are spiritually asleep and it is time to wake up and get dressed.  What are the beautiful garments that hwhy wants us to put on?  Ps. 132:9;  Isa. 61:10 and Rev. 19:7,8 show that it is righteousness that we are to be spiritually clothed with.  told the people in Isaiah’s(Yeshayah’s) day that their lives were in the dust of the world and that they must awake out of their low condition.  It is easy to become ensnared in the ways of the world and to break away requires diligent effort.  said, “Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.” Lk. 13:24  Many will wake up only when it is too late and realize that the way to eternal life was truly strait and narrow, Matt. 7:13,14.

To follow fully will require a sacrifice of the things of this world, but this is a small price to pay compared to what hwhy has promised to give us in return.  In Ps. 50:5 says, “Gather My saints together unto Me;  those that have made a covenant with Me by sacrifice.”  One time a man came to and asked what was required for him to inherit eternal life, could see that the man had many useful talents that could be used in hwhy’s service but this man’s business and money was a snare to him.  So told him to sell all he had and give it to the poor and then to come and follow Him.  The man turned away, as his possessions meant more to him than the service of .  To break away from a bad practice might be as hard as cutting off your own hand or pulling out your own eye, Mk. 9:43-46, but even if this drastic a measure is necessary, it will be worth it in consideration of the great reward of eternal life.  To inherit eternal life, no sacrifice is too great.

One time a man came to and complained that His disciples could not cast a demon out of his son.  replied with scathing words, “O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me.” Matt. 17:17  later told His disciples that the power to cast out the demon was available to them as well as to Him but the difference was they were unbelieving and impure in heart and thus the power could not be bestowed on them.  wants to do great things for us but it is our own unbelieving, perverted condition that is preventing the blessing from coming.  Many Scriptures tell of the new heaven and earth that is to come in the future, what is delaying the setting up of this new kingdom?  It is only the unbelief and perverseness of our own hearts.  We are not ready to see the pure kingdom of .

How is it with us, do we really want to see the end of this wicked world and the new kingdom of established?  If so, we will show so by the way we live our lives today.  During the festival days of the seventh month designed that man should examine himself in the light of His Torah and see that he brought his life into harmony with its precepts.  On the day of Trumpets commanded a sacred gathering to awaken the people to the eternal realities that would determine their future destinies.  Between Trumpets and the day of Atonement there were ten days to meditate on the Ten Commandments, and on the tenth day of the seventh month commanded this to be a strict day of rest when no work of any kind was to be done and the people were to afflict their souls before , confessing their sin and examining their life in the light of ’s Torah.  Yoel (Joel) 2:15,16 says, “Blow the trumpet in Zion , sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly: 16Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts…”   Those who repented of and put away their sins would enjoy a time of rejoicing during the seven day festival of Tabernacles.  Tabernacles is symbolic of the time of rejoicing ’s people will have during the 1000 year millennium period.  The last eighth day of Tabernacles is symbolic of the redeemed people being in the new heaven and earth, when all sin and sinners are no more.

Brothers and sisters as the solemn autumn festival days are approaching let awake to the calling Yahweh has upon on us and commit ourselves to finishing the work He has given into our hands.
