Festival of Tabernacles 2004           

The festival of Tabernacles will be celebrated this year from Oct. 1 – 8*, the first and last days of the festival are high days in which no regular work is to be done(Lev.23:35,36), the first high day will start at the end of Thursday Sept. 30.  The Assemblies of Yahweh Ministries will be helping to sponsor three feast sites in the state of Andhra Pradesh.  All are encouraged to attend the site closest to them.  The three sites to be sponsored are:  1.  with Y. Sunith Premanand in Hyderabad at the Medipally prayer hall, 040-24072976;  2.  in Vishakhapatnam with G. Raja Prasad and brethren at the Zion School in Pithapuram Colony, 0891-2575569, 09246614656;  3.  in Malikipuram with bro. Mattithyah and Issac E. Kusuma at the A.O.T.L.E. prayer hall, 08862-227613, 8812-248030.  Each of these three places will be keeping all eight days of the festival and will provide meals for those coming from out of town.  Pastors from any assembly will be given one-side travel charges if they attend the feast site closest to them and stay for a minimum of three days. 

The annual festivals should not to be treated as a weekly Sabbath that one might keep in his local area.  But, Yahweh ordained that the annual festivals should be times when people would congregate together in large groups and many times have to travel far distances, Dt.12:11-14;  14:22-25.  Yahweh ordained that those that attended the festivals should come with a donation to give, as they were able, Dt. 16:16,17.  Those attending the festival should realize that there is great expense being made by the hosting company and they should feel it their obligation to do their part to help out financially, Ex.23:14-16.

Those coming from out of town should arrive at the appointed feast site before sunset on Thursday Sept. 30 and no buying and selling is to be done the first high day of Fri. Oct. 1 or the eighth day of Oct. 8.  Being that the last day of the feast falls on a Friday everyone attending should also stay for Sabbath day on Oct. 9 and make plans to leave sometime after the sun sets on Saturday night.  On Thursday Oct. 7 all buying of food, petrol, etc… should be done for the two next days.  No one should be paying for public transportation on either the annual or weekly Sabbath days. 

*The visible crescent moon for Trumpets will be seen in India on Sept.16 making Sept.17 the first day of the 7^th month.  The visible crescent will be seen in America on Sept. 15.  It is borderline as to whether it will be seen in Ysrael.  See www.karaite-korner.org/

New Hebrew learning School in Guntur, A.P.

Evangelism Report and New Assembly started in Kurnool Dt., A.P.

Brother Issac Kusuma and bro. Sekhar recently completed a 10-day literature evangelism tour in which they traveled by motorbike 1800 kilometers through many districts of  Andhra Pradesh.  They were mainly distributing literature to various Christian peoples, that taught the fundamental beliefs of the Assemblies of Yahweh.  In Kurnool city, Dt. of Kurnool, brother Prakash Nanda, has started a new Assembly of Yahweh that has a growing membership of about 25 persons.  There are many dark Districts of Andhra Pradesh with no worshippers of Yahweh.  Pray that Yahweh will raise up laborers to the harvest.

Shoot at her, spare no arrows 

Jer. 50:14 says, “Put yourselves in array against Babylon round about: all ye that bend the bow, shoot at her, spare no arrows: for she hath sinned against Yahweh.”  Modern day spiritual Babylon is a great alluring city that is taking many people captive and leading them to sin against Yahweh.  Her false doctrines have permeated the peoples minds and thus they are spiritually drunk and do not know the difference between righteousness and sin.  Yahweh calls upon His people to come out of any organization that is teaching people to break His commandments.  The Apostle Paul said that before the return of Yahshua Messiah to this world that the “man of sin would be revealed, the son of perdition”, 2Thes. 2:2-4.  It is the intention of this article to shoot a few arrows at Babylon and to reveal the “man of sin” that is leading the world to break the law of Yahweh.

The main sin of Babylon is forgetfulness of Yahweh, which has led to man devising his own religions.  This has also opened the door to man being led astray by Satan himself and his evil angels.  The eastern oriental religions such as Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism, Sikhism, Shintoism, etc… do not acknowledge Yahweh’s law as binding and thus they are in violation of many of its precepts.

Judaism by in large has taught against the use of the Name of Yahweh and thus they are leading many to transgress the third commandment.  Judaism has also denied the true goal of the sacrificial system by denying Yahshua as Messiah and thus they have made void the whole intention of the sacrificial laws, which foreshadowed the sacrifice of the Messiah, Lev.17:11.

Christianity claims to be a follower of the deity of the Bible but yet most teach that the laws of the Creator have been done away with.  The definition of a false prophet would be, one who teaches against the law of Yahweh, Isa. 8:19,20.  The original believers in the Messiah did not teach against the law of Yahweh as they were simply Jews that had accepted Yahshua as the promised Messiah.  Later others called the believers in Messiah, “Christians”, and thus the name became common, Acts11:26;  26:28;  1Pet.4:16.  It was not until around 300 A.D. that it became universal for a Christian to reject the laws of Yahweh.  So the rejection of the laws of Yahweh by the Christian church has been a gradual amalgamation of the true faith that Yahshua Messiah taught, 2Thes.2:7.

Today, Christianity has grown to being the largest religion in the world.  In the year 533AD there was a Roman emperor reigning named Justinian, and he gave a decree making the Pope the head of all religious churches, and the punisher of all “heretics”.  From that time till now, the Catholic church has grown greatly in numbers and in political power;  today they are the largest religious organization in the world, with over a billion baptized members. 

The Catholic church however, did not follow the laws and doctrines of the Bible and it accepted many pagan practices in order to gain adherents.  The main false doctrine taught, was that the Pope had the right to change the laws of Yahweh.  In order to gain adherents into the church the Pope allowed the making and worshipping of idols, thus transgressing the second commandment.  The Pagan worshippers of the Roman empire worshipped the Sun on the first day of the week.  In order to accommodate the sun worshippers, the Pope promoted the first day of the week to being the day that the weekly Sabbath should be celebrated on, thus transgressing the fourth commandment.  Many other unbiblical doctrines were established by the Catholic church such as the Eucharist, purgatory, worship of saints, confessing sin to a man(priest), sale of indulgences, Mariology, deification of the Pope, the inquisition, etc…  Many began protesting against the false doctrines of the Catholic church and thus they became known as Protestants.  The Pope excommunicated the Protestants and thus we have the many other denominations of the Christian church today.  But one point of Catholicism that most all Protestants held onto was, Sunday Sacredness.

2Thes. 2:3-4 says, “³Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; ⁴Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called Elohim, or that is worshipped; so that he as Elohim sitteth in the temple of Elohim , shewing himself that he is Elohim.”  By claiming the right to change Yahweh’s laws the Pope opposeth and exalteth himself above Elohim.  The Catholic church even teaches that the Pope himself is  deity, - “The Pope is of so great dignity and so exalted that he is not a mere man, but as it were God, and the Vicar of God.”  Ferraris’ Eccl. (Catholic) Article, Pope.  Thus we can see from the forgoing that the Pope is teaching all peoples to sin against Yahweh, he sits in a temple shewing himself to be Elohim and thus he holds the position of the “man of sin”.  The majority of the Protestant churches that still follow the Catholic doctrine of Sunday sacredness are in the position of false prophets.  They claim to be true prophets of the Biblical Deity but yet they teach against the keeping of His Laws.

Catholicism and the “Charismatic Revival”

The modern day “tongues movement”, or sometimes known as the “Charismatic or Pentecostal” revival movement, is credited with getting its start in 1906 in a small church in Los Angeles, California, USA.  From that time it has grown to a large movement entering into nearly every Christian denomination.  In the late 1960’s it also entered into the Catholic Church.  What has been the result the movement on the Catholics who have received the gift of tongues?  Has the “spirit” led them to come out of any of the errors taught by Catholicism?   

"Catholic charismatics are placing more emphasis on their church identity and heritage than ever before. Wherever I go ... CATHOLIC CHARISMATICS ARE REDISCOVERING THE MEANING OF TRADITIONAL CATHOLIC BELIEFS AND PRACTICES, including the sacraments, the Rosary, the Virgin Mary and the saints. ... For years I've been telling Pentecostals that the Catholic Church was de-emphasizing devotion to Mary.
